International University of Applied Sciences and GSM: Consolidated Education Quality Management for Hospitality and Tourism

The extra-occupational offer focuses on current quality needs of the Hospitality and Tourism industry and is directed at experienced employees, management and quality agents.
„More and more businesses realise the necessity to sustainably assure the quality of their business processes“, explains managing partner of GSM, Franz-Josef König, the new offer. „Hospitality and Tourism also benefit from a professional quality management.“ On the occasion of the cooperation, the rector of the International University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Peter Thuy stressed once more the practical orientation of the university’s study programmes and seminars. „We observe that the profile of qualifications of management and other employees who are working in the service industry internationally is changing“, says Thuy. „We accommodate these changes with continuing education offers.“
The course „Quality Management in Hospitality“ will be offered twice a year starting 2010. It is split into four modules and comprises the duration of at least eight days. After a successfully completed final exam the participants receive a certificate. Within the different modules participants learn to develop a quality concept for their businesses – hotels, associations and other tourism providers.
Part of this is to design the best fitting quality standards, plan and organise their implementation, and assure their adherence and further development. The courses will for the most part take place on the campus of the International University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef, if requested they can also be offered elsewhere. The lecturers will exclusively be experienced hospitality industry specialists as well as professors from the International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honef · Bonn.
