Practical elements
Internship
One or two internships of 5-6 months length enable our students to translate their academic knowledge into practical experience. The internship can be taken either in Germany or abroad. It represents a crucial element of our studies: Students establish first ties with the industry and have the chance to leave a first mark in the memory of potential employers.
Extra Curriculum
A further addition to the study programme’s emphasis on practical experience is what we call “Extra Curriculum”. The Extra Curriculum is offered once per week during the first semester. Participation is optional.
The programme consists of the following elements:

Workshops and conferences on and off campus on different subjects

Guest lectures from experts from the tourism industry

Field trips to industry-specific companies, e.g. tour operators or airports
The Extra Curriculum works as an excellent orientation tool in the first semester and provides our students with first-hand insights into the world of tourism. In this way, our students learn more about how the industry is structured, which types of enterprises and what work opportunities exist.
