Financing your studies - Financial aid

The study programmes at the private, state accredited International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef · Bonn (IUBH) offer excellent prospects for your personal business career. Our university’s aim is to give all prospective students the opportunity to study at our university – regardless of their economic situation. The university, therefore, offers a range of financial assistance opportunities. In case of questions you can contact our Study Advisors. 1. IUBH Scholarships

IUBH awards scholarships to highly motivated applicants with excellent school performance and the potential to excel. Apart from our own scholarships, our university awards scholarships sponsored by co-operation partners like AIDA, Phoenix Reisen, Deutsche Lufthansa and Ließem-Stiftung. Criteria for awarding a scholarship are as follows: your personality and school performance, involvement in social services and your financial situation. If you would like to apply for a scholarship you have to start an additional application process.

2. Student loans

Students of IUBH can apply for study finance products (special conditions) from Deutsche Bank Bad Godesberg, Dresdner Bank Bad Honnef and Stadtsparkasse Bad Honnef. The following PDF document gives you detailed insight into several methods of financing your studies:

 

3. BAföG

Since IUBH is a state-recognised university, our students have the opportunity to apply for a partly repayable student grant according to BAföG (German law for educational support). BAföG can provide additional support for the coverage of living costs. International students can apply for a BAföG student grant only under certain conditions. As a general rule, they have to have a prospect to stay in Germany and should be socially integrated.
